What is Css Exam? CSS 2025 Complete Guide

Central Superior Service or CSS Exam is a National level exam by the government of Pakistan held by FPSC (Federal Public Service Commission) each year to recruit the finest public servants across the country to work in 12 different departments of the government. CSS Exam is of 1500 marks of which 1200 are for the written exam and 300 for the Interview conducted after passing the written exam. This exam takes place each year across different cities in Pakistan and thousands of people appear each year.
CSS Age Limit and Eligibility Criteria
Any Pakistani holding a bachelor’s degree in any subject can apply for the CSS Exam by FPSC. Age limit for CSS is 30 years and FPSC provide 3 attempts to appear in exam.
CSS Syllabus 2025
CSS is composed of 1500 marks of which 1200 marks are for written exams and 300 marks for interview after passing the written exam. The 1200 written exam is divided into 2 portions which are 600 marks each. First, the 600-mark portion is called compulsory subjects which are English Essay, English Percie and Composition, Islamic studies, Pakistan Affairs, Current Affairs, and General Science and Ability.
Second, the 600 marks portion is optional subjects that can be chosen from a long list of subjects.
